Dr. Fahad Razak
Fahad is an Internist at St. Michael’s Hospital and an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. He completed his undergraduate degree (Engineering Science), medical training, residency (Internal Medicine), and fellowship (General Internal Medicine) all from the University of Toronto. He also holds an MSc in Health Research Methodology from McMaster and was a David E. Bell Fellow at Harvard where he remains a Visiting Scientist.
Dr. Adina Weinerman
Adina is a General Internist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and an assistant professor at the University of Toronto. In 2015, she completed her masters in Health Administration from the Institute for Health Policy, Management and Evaluation. Her area of research focuses on resource stewardship.
Dr. Terence Tang
Terence is a staff physician in General Internal Medicine and a Clinician Scientist at the Institute for Better Health at Trillium Health Partners. He is currently pursuing his MSc in Health Informatics at the University of Victoria. He is interested in the use of technology and data in the healthcare sector.
Dr. Shail Rawal
Shail is a staff physician in General Internal Medicine at the University Health Network and an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. She completed medical school and residency at the University of Toronto and an MPH at the Harvard School of Public Health. Shail's area of research is the intersection of health equity and quality improvement.
Dr. Amol Verma
Amol is a staff physician in General Internal Medicine and research fellow in the Li Ka Shing Centre for Healthcare Analytics Research and Training at St. Michael’s Hospital. He is also a Phillipson Scholar in the Clinician-Scientist Training Program at the University of Toronto Department of Medicine. He completed medical school at the University of Toronto and a Masters in Economic and Social History at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar.
Dr. Lauren Lapointe-Shaw
Lauren is a General Internist and a Philipson Scholar at the University of Toronto. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology focused on follow-up after hospital discharge. She is most interested in health policy and measuring the quality of our healthcare system.
Yishan is a data scientist working full-time on GEMINI at St Michael’s Hospital. He completed his masters in biostatistics from Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto and his bachelors in marine biology from Xiamen University.
Dr. Muhammad Mamdani
Muhammad is the Director of the Li Ka Shing Centre for Healthcare Analytics Research and Training (CHART) of the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael’s Hospital and adjunct Senior Scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES). He is also Professor in the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, the Department of Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine, and the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation of the Dalla Lana Faculty of Public Health.
He has published approximately 400 research studies in peer-reviewed medical journals, including leading journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, the Lancet, the Journal of the American Medical Association, the British Medical Journal, and Annals of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Andreas Laupacis
Andreas is a general internist and the Executive Director of the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael’s Hospital. He is a Professor at the University of Toronto in the Faculty of Medicine and the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation.
He has published over 355 peer-reviewed articles covering a variety of topics in clinical epidemiology, health services research, health technology assessment and health policy. He engages the public about health care issues (he founded the web sites www.healthydebate.ca and www.facesofhealthcare.ca), and holds a Canada Research Chair in Health Policy and Citizen Engagement.
